Hi!
My name is Jen Smith and I currently live in Crystal Lake, Illinois which is in Chicagoland. My husband Dave serves on staff at Willow Creek Community Church (Crystal Lake Campus). Dave and I have six kids, Conner, Cameron, Riley, Lucy, Dylan and Yorke. Dave and I were high school sweethearts growing up in South Jersey. We lived in Akron, Ohio for the first 16 years of our marriage.
In August of 2010, 2 1/2 weeks before our twins were born, we moved to Crystal Lake. Even though I believed God led us here to this new place and this new church, the move and the twin’s birth landed me in a dark forest. I have been finding my way out ever since.
Dave actually set this blog up for me when we first moved five years ago so I could have an outlet for my words! It’s only now I find myself ready to put some thoughts down here in this space. I hope whoever stops by finds an honest voice to relate to along the way.
